The Réserve Naturelle Nationale du Marais Communal de Saint-Denis-du-Payré or Réserve Naturelle Michel Brosselin is a national nature reserve classified in 1976.
It covers an area of 206 hectares and protects a communal marsh typical of the Marais Poitevin.
Take advantage of the migration periods from late February to May or from July to October, when migratory birds make a stopover in Vendée. It’s a protected area where they can enjoy a peaceful stay.
Here you can discover :
- In summer, Eurasian Spoonbill, Black-tailed Godwit, White-winged Stilt…
- In winter, populations of migratory birds from Northern Europe and Scandinavia: Greylag Geese, Whistling Ducks, Green-winged Teals…
There are so many living species in the nature reserve that are not listed because they are so numerous, and they can be observed in all seasons.
