Day at the Veillon site
An unforgettable day at the Veillon site
If you’re looking for an unforgettable day by the sea, look no further than Le Veillon.
Nestling on the Vendée coast, this is the ideal place for a day of relaxation and fun with family or friends.
Get ready for a day to remember!
Before you leave, here’s some practical information to help you plan your visit. Access to Veillon beach is free, but we recommend arriving early in summer to find a parking space. Toilets and showers are available on site, as are first-aid posts to ensure the safety of bathers. Animals are not allowed between April 1 and October 15.
To make the most of the day, don’t forget your swimsuit and beach gear. You can bring your own picnic or eat directly on site for a totally relaxing day!
Located just a few kilometers from Talmont-Saint-Hilaire, Veillon beach is a real gem on the Vendée coast. With its golden sands and crystal-clear waters, this idyllic setting offers a breathtaking beach and a multitude of activities to suit all tastes. To reach the beach, you can take a path through the surrounding forest, which adds a touch of magic to your experience.
Once you’ve arrived at Le Veillon beach, you’ll be amazed by the natural beauty that stretches out before you. The sand dunes invite you to bask in the sun. The turquoise waters have even been awarded the Pavillon Bleu label for their bathing quality. And if you’re looking for a little privacy, you’ll also find quiet coves where you can relax in peace and quiet.
…a journey between sea…
There’s much more to Le Veillon beach than just relaxing. For windsurfers and kitesurfers, you can enjoy these exciting water sports. Local sailing schools also offer courses and equipment hire for those wishing to learn these disciplines.
Do you like paddleboarding? Virgile, from Paddle Aventure, offers guided tours and equipment rental. Tours of 1h30 to 2h can even take you as far as La Guitière for a tasting of locally caught oysters. After the effort, the comfort!
If you’re more of a kayaker, whether with family or friends, laughter and memories are guaranteed.
For those who don’t fancy water sports, there are a number of wonderful hiking trails along the Veillon beach. If you’re exploring the Payré Nature Reserve, don’t forget to bring your binoculars so you can observe the birds that live there. On foot or by bike, your walk along the reserve’s signposted trails will enable you to discover migratory bird species, salt marshes and a unique ecosystem. It’s a unique experience for nature lovers.
The little green thought: Be vigilant and respect the environment by not leaving any garbage behind.
What about children?
If you’ve got children in tow, the Veillon beach is also family-friendly. Youngsters can build sandcastles or play in the shallow waters in complete safety.
To brighten up the day even more, young and old alike will have fun at the La Bélière Loisirs playground. The park is open to 3-15 year-olds and offers a range of activities: go-karts, trampolines, climbing, sumo wrestling and even mini-golf. A safe way to let off steam!
To end the day on a high note
After a busy afternoon on the Veillon site, you can visit one of the restaurants or cafés lining the beach. Enjoy local specialties such as fresh seafood and galettes vendéennes, while admiring the breathtaking ocean views.
And to round off this idyllic day, don’t miss the sunset on Veillon beach. The flamboyant colors that set the sky ablaze and reflect off the water create a soothingly romantic ambience. Take your time to make yourself comfortable on the beach and admire this exceptional natural spectacle.
