Before you leave, here’s some practical information to help you plan your visit. Access to Veillon beach is free, but we recommend arriving early in summer to find a parking space. Toilets and showers are available on site, as are first-aid posts to ensure the safety of bathers. Animals are not allowed between April 1 and October 15.
To make the most of the day, don’t forget your swimsuit and beach gear. You can bring your own picnic or eat directly on site for a totally relaxing day!
Veillon beach…
Located just a few kilometers from Talmont-Saint-Hilaire, Veillon beach is a real gem on the Vendée coast. With its golden sands and crystal-clear waters, this idyllic setting offers a breathtaking beach and a multitude of activities to suit all tastes. To reach the beach, you can take a path through the surrounding forest, which adds a touch of magic to your experience.
Once you’ve arrived at Le Veillon beach, you’ll be amazed by the natural beauty that stretches out before you. The sand dunes invite you to bask in the sun. The turquoise waters have even been awarded the Pavillon Bleu label for their bathing quality. And if you’re looking for a little privacy, you’ll also find quiet coves where you can relax in peace and quiet.

There’s much more to Le Veillon beach than just relaxing. For windsurfers and kitesurfers, you can enjoy these exciting water sports. Local sailing schools also offer courses and equipment hire for those wishing to learn these disciplines.
Do you like paddleboarding? Virgile, from Paddle Aventure, offers guided tours and equipment rental. Tours of 1h30 to 2h can even take you as far as La Guitière for a tasting of locally caught oysters. After the effort, the comfort!

For those who don’t fancy water sports, there are a number of wonderful hiking trails along the Veillon beach. If you’re exploring the Payré Nature Reserve, don’t forget to bring your binoculars so you can observe the birds that live there. On foot or by bike, your walk along the reserve’s signposted trails will enable you to discover migratory bird species, salt marshes and a unique ecosystem. It’s a unique experience for nature lovers.
